The documentary film “The Weight Of Chains” will deal with tough issues concerning the breakup of Yugoslavia and the consequences of a decade of instability and war. It will present strong arguments which uncover the true reasons behind Western intervention in the Balkans and why .

The film began with production in late 2009 in several cities throughout Canada including Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto, continued in early 2010 in the United States – Columbus, Dayton, New York and Washington, and was finalized in the Summer of 2010 in Slovenia – Ljubljana; Croatia – Vukovar, Djakovo, Jasenovac, Zagreb, Gospic, Knin; Bosnia-Herzegovina – Sarajevo, Trebinje; Serbia – Belgrade, Subotica, Kosovska Mitrovica, Trepca, Pristina, Orahovac, Prizren and Strpce. “The Weight Of Chains” is currently in post-production.

The director of this film, ;Boris Malagurski, has made several films to date, the last one being “Kosovo | Can You Imagine?”, a controversial documentary exposing how remaining Serbs in Kosovo have little or no basic human rights, which won several awards on film festivals around the world and was broadcasted as well.
“The Weight Of Chains”, which is planned for release in October 2010, will present a Canadian perspective on Western involvement in the division of the ethnic groups within Yugoslavia and show that the war was forced from outside — regular people wanted peace.

However, extreme fractions on all sides, fuelled by their foreign mentors, outvoiced the moderates and even ten years after the last conflict — the hatred remains and people continue spreading myths of what really happened in the 1990s. What really happened?

I bought a used ’99 VW Jetta over the summer. A few days ago, the alternator went out, luckily right in front of a repair shop. The shop is telling me for the alternator, I’m looking at $850, and to be frank, I don’t have that kinda money just laying around. So a friend told me if I got it towed back to my house, he would replace it for me for just the cost of parts. I know someone with a truck and a TOWING CHAIN, but will that work on my car? I know you have to have something to hook it onto… Please help!

Thanks guys!
They tried to jump my battery with a charge pack and my car drove maybe 20 feet and died again. My car is an automatic and I believe the mechanic said it was a GL. What will happen if it tow it with the tires on the ground??

All VWs have tow points under the bumper. In fact, it would not hurt to tow by the anti-sway bar.
But you should not tow an automatic with the wheels on the ground. I would only tow it if it is a manual transmission.
But you don’t have to.
Just take the battery out and charge it, and it will run for at least a half hour.
They you can just drive it back to your house.
And a new alternator should be less than $100, and take 5 minutes to install.
It is almost easier to change the alternator, as to take the battery out.
But you need to charge the battery up anyway.
You never want to jump start a car with a bad battery, because it is likely to ruin the new alternator.

Do not jump start if at all possible, because after jump starting, the battery will have no resistance at all, and any good alternator will quickly burn itself out trying to recharge that dead battery.
Always recharge with a charger instead of taxing the alternator.
And if you charger the battery for 3 hours, it will run for at least a half hour, without the alternator.

If you tow with the wheels on the ground, the automatic transmission will be forced to turn, but without any oil being pumped. The oil pump is run by the engine, through the torque converter. So the bearings in the automatic will go bad. Only a manual transmission can be towed with power wheels on the ground, because they don’t have an oil pump, but rely just on splash because the oil is so much thicker.

Any business is composed of many processes. All of those processes have direct or indirect impact to the main activity – serving the customers. Customers expect to receive product and/or service from their supplier that will satisfy their needs.

Usually, more than one company is competing for the same customer base. Eventually, the customer base is split based on chosen supplier. What is the reason for customer to choose one supplier out of many? All suppliers are competing to satisfy customer’s needs by offering them a certain value. This value is represented as ratio between benefits and price. More benefits for less price gives greater value to the customer. So, the product/service needs either to have bigger benefit for the same price, or lower price for the same benefit, for some company to be chosen as a preferred supplier.

When we come to cost structure, that affects the value delivered, we find many process steps that increase, directly or indirectly, the price of the product. These activities can be value adding or waste activities.

Value Adding Activities

Since customer appreciate greater value that he receives from his supplier, any activity that customer cares about is value adding. Any activity that improves the product appearance, functionality, durability, satisfaction and brand loyalty is value-adding activity.

Also, value-adding activity is any activity that changes the product itself. This can be in any step in raw materials manipulation, production, or adjustments and packing of the product.

Finally, any activity that is done properly from the first time can be considered as value adding. Obviously, failure to achieve activity from the first time does not add to the value of the product.

Waste Activities

Unfortunately, there are many waste activities that are waiting any company during their activities. Wastes are sometimes even difficult to detect, especially in case that proper structure of key business indicators is not implemented. There is a whole range of wastes that can generate in Supply Chain:

Overproduction – This Type of Waste can happen in case of greater production versus demand, or in case of inaccurate forecasting. In some cases overproduction can be justified, like pre-stocking prior to the main sales season.

Unnecessary Inventory – It is true that higher inventory is the protection from uncertainty of demand and from OOS, but too high inventory does not add value. From financial perspectives, high inventory level is capturing the working capital, that can be used for better purpose ( investment, interest, etc. )

Defects can slow down or stop production. Low productivity and scrap are increasing cost per unit produced.

Inappropriate processing due to inadequate technology or design can produce waste.

Waiting of item in the queue to be process does not add value to the customer.

Transport is an important part of operations, but unnecessarily movement of products is not adding value

The optimum price of the product is achieved by proper balancing of activities. Value adding activities should be optimized, while waste activities should be either reduced or eliminated.

Jet ski doesn’t run on land. That is why, in order for you to bring it to the waters where it belongs, you should have a tool to transport it. You must need a jet ski trailer. But transporting you jet ski is one thing. Protecting it from thieves is another. And the first line of defense you can do in order to avoid it is to make sure that your trailer is safe and secured.

If you cannot transport your jet ski without a trailer, no one could. So it is important to keep your trailer secured as well.

Here’s how:

Strap your jet ski to the trailer securely. This is important because if the jet ski is secured to the trailer, any attempt to remove it will not work. Make sure that you provide the thief a major task. In other words, you give the thief too much work that can cause too much noise and draws too much attention so that they will be forced to find an easier prey.

If staying at the garage, make sure that the trailer could not be moved in any way possible. Remember that a truck and haul your trailer easily so make sure that there is no possibility that that trailer can be moved. You can consider removing the wheels of the trailer during long off-season period.

Never in any circumstance leave the jet ski and jet ski trailer unattended while outside. Though it can be secured on a certain location, it would be very advisable to keep an eye on them at all times. If you are staying at a hotel, have it parked securely or have a hotel attendant to man your jet ski. Keep it covered so that the risk is lessened. If parked on an open space, install a trailer anti-theft wheel lock so that no one can move your trailer while you are away.

Make sure you invest on a good chain. You can chain it secured during the day or dock it to an immovable place.

A waterproof battery disconnect switch could prevent theft from staring your jet ski. You can purchase one and you can assure yourself that no one can ever start your jet ski.

With a little price to pay for the stuff you need to buy and time you need to spend, you can spare one of your priced possessions from going away from you.

Many beginning crocheters don’t venture past the basic crochet stitches after learning to crochet. They only learn the single crochet, double crochet, and triple crochet. There are plenty of fancy crochet stitches to learn. They form interesting texture and patterns and add interest to your work. It doesn’t take special skills to learn the more advanced stitches. These stitches are based on what you already know. You just need a crochet hook and yarn along with patience. Here are a few fancy crochet stitches to include in you stitch collection. Practice with worsted weight yarn and a G or H hook until you get the feel of them.

Cross Stitch

This crochet stitch doesn’t have anything to do with embroidery. The crochet cross-stitch creates a nice, openwork pattern resembling an X. Make a multiple of three chains. Row 1: Single crochet in each chain across. Chain three and turn. Row 2: Skip first single crochet. Double in the next stitch. Go back and double crochet in skipped stitch. Repeat row 1 and 2 for pattern.

Post stitch

The post crochet stitch creates a raised texture. It also produces a thick, reversible fabric. To make a front post double crochet , crochet any number of chains. Row 1:Double crochet in each chain across. Chain three, turn. Row 2: Double crochet in the vertical bar of next double crochet. Double crochet in next stitch across. Chain three and turn. Double crochet across. Repeat the tow rows for pattern. To make back post double crochet make a row of double crochet. Chain three, turn. Double crochet in the vertical bar behind the stitch. Double crochet in the next stitch. Repeat across. Alternate rows of double crochet and post stitches.

Puff Stitch

Puff stitch is a crochet stitch that resembles a bubble. Make a row of double or single crochet. Chain one to turn for single crochet and three for double crochet. Double crochet in first stitch. Two loops should be on hook. Work first half of double crochet in same stitch retaining last loop on hook. Repeat five or six more times. Making sure loops are the same height. Yarn over and draw thread through all loops. More double crochet make the stitch thicker.

Cluster Stitch

The cluster crochet stitch is worked on an even number of stitches. Unlike the puff crochet stitch, the cluster stitch uses two or three stitches. Techniques vary on the cluster stitch but here is a common method.
Make an even number of chains. Yarn over and double crochet in fourth chain from hook. Yarn over and draw through two lops on hook. Yarn over and insert hook in next chain. Draw through two loops. Yarn over and draw through all three loops. Repeat across with chain one in the middle.

Popcorn Stitch

The popcorn stitch is another textured stitch. It can be worked in single or double crochet. Crochet any number of even chain stitches. single Crochet in each chain across. Chain three and turn. Make five double crochet in the same stitch. Drop loop from hook. Insert hook in first stitch and pull dropped loop through.

Are they synonymous or does one follow the other? All images I find on the internet only show the four complexes of the electron Transport Chain and ATP synthase (sometimes called complex V), but where is oxydative phosphorylation and what exactly is it? I just don’t see it, maybe someone could give a link to an image? Please help clear up this confusion.
Thanks.

You can think of them as being synonymous. A simple answer is that ATP is produced by the oxidation of electron carriers in the ETC, so it’s phosphorylation of ADP by an oxidative process.
